Rachel Walshe

Rachel Walshe is an award-winning actor and writer from Ireland. 

A seasoned theatre actress, Rachel’s most recent productions include the role of Catherine in MEMORY OF WATER (dir: Jacqueline Carroll) for No Drama, the role of Rosebud in SHOWDOWN AT HICKORY GULCH (dir. Kathleen Warner Yeates) and the role of Woman in UKULELES ON A LEDGE (dir. Adrian O’Connell).

She will play one of the leading roles in BONNY & READ which will run at the Open House Festival this June.

Screen work includes DANGLE THE CAT (dir: Niall Reynolds); BENEATH THE SURFACE (dir: Fiona Ashe); and THE INHERITANCE (dir: Donnacha Gilmore). 

Rachel’s short film script GRANDO won the Puttnam Award at the Fastnet Film Festival. The film, which she subsequently directed and co-produced, in association with Cork County Council, appeared on the festival circuit in 2024.

Other works include MEASURING STICK and ATTEND TO YOUR MASK FIRST, which she wrote and starred in, and were featured on the Irish and UK festival circuits.
